Need a helping hand with your mushroom cultivation techniques? We got you.
Incubate the bucket in a warm, dark area for 3-4 weeks.
(Anywhere inside your house should be fine.)
Monitor the growth towards the end of the 3rd week.
(Check if a white film has formed around the straw.)
Once the mycelium has formed a film around the straw, remove the micropore tape and place it in a space with fresh air and indirect light.
(Shower rooms are great environments for this because of the high humidity, extraction fans and opaque indirect lighting.)
Soon, mushrooms will begin to grow from the holes on the sides of the buckets.
(It's time to harvest just before the rims of the mushroom caps straighten out)
Additional notes:
- If you notice any green mould form inside your buckets, sorry but the experiment has failed - please dispose of it safely in your garden or a plastic bag! (white is fine, this is the mycelium)
- You may try to improve your results by adding a tray of water below your bucket and placing it in a transparent bag around it (IT STILL NEEDS TO BREATH)... Alternatively, you may choose to mist the bucket twice a day (Don't spray the mushrooms directly spray around the mushrooms)
